The Kaleido Family Arts festival is a visual art, music, theatre and dance festival that takes place at various venues on 118 ave, from Sept. 10 to 12. We are looking for volunteers to help with the following tasks;

  • Security
  • Supervising the children’s carnival
  • Selling raffle tickets
  • Supervising the donation bin
  • Setting up and tearing down
  • Hosting the art gallery
  • Running errands (person needs a car)
  • Acting as fire marshals to supervise bonfire

Here are shift times:

Friday, Sept. 10 evening: 5 to 10 pm
Saturday, Sept 11 for duties listed above: 9 am to 1 pm, 1 to 6 pm, and 6 to 11
Sunday, Sept. 12 for duties listed above 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Sunday for tear down and clean up: 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm

We could also use assistance lifting, moving items, and doing carpentry on Friday, Sept. 10, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Volunteer Orientation

There is a volunteer orientation on Monday, August 30, at the Alberta Avenue Community League at 9210 118 Avenue. It is not mandatory, but it would be helpful if you could attend.

People who are welcome to this barbeque (to be held on Aug.11) include:

  • Those who committed to volunteer for  the Kaleido Festival and already filled in a volunteer sign up form
  • Those who are interested in volunteering for the Kaleido Festival and would like to sign up

At the barbeque: we will explain a little bit more about the festival, discuss your volunteer roles and answer your questions. You will also be able to meet other volunteers.(For those who are already signed up–we hope to discuss what you will do at the festival and connect you to leaders).

The barbeque will be held:

Wednesday, August 11, 6:00 pm
Alberta Avenue Community League Lutz Hall (9210 118 Avenue)

The barbeque will consist of burgers, hotdogs, buns and veggies. If you have food allergies, please respond to this message, explaining what you are allergic to.

It is important to RSVP by emailing kaleidovolunteers@gmail.com to let us know that you can come so that we know how much food to prepare.

If you cannot attend, but you would like to volunteer at Kaleido Sept 10-12:

Some of the best benefits of being a volunteer are:
Getting to know other people (many of whom may share your interests),
Making a difference for Edmonton’s artists’ community (art, theatre, music, dance, and more)
Making a difference in the Alberta Avenue community
