Sunday brings you Edmonton’s biggest arts block party! There’ll be plenty of music playing at The Carrot and at the featured “Rhythms Of Our Own” drum festival. You’ll find workshops, visual arts a drum circle and much more. The weekend closes with a special Sunday evening concert at the Avenue Theatre (paid tickets required). kaleido welcomes: rhythms of our own drum festival

This year, Kaleido welcomes the Alberta International Percussion Society as they present the 2nd “Rhythms Of Our Own” Drum Festival, a fabulous day of percussion and dance performances, master workshops and interactive activities.

Watch Tilo Paiz and his band of amazing percussionists, join a drum circle, watch a marching band or participate in a Master Workshop* with international musician Adjetey Kofi Quarshie. No matter what you choose, the beat goes on, and we know you will enjoy this fantastic tribute to percussionists and dancers from Edmonton, Calgary and beyond.

Precursor Ensemble: Members of the BFA Acting Class of 2010. Location: Meet at The Carrot Coffeehouse (9351–118 Ave)
A found space journey throughout the community of 118th Avenue by an ensemble of new artists. The experience will be both haunting and humorous as you venture through this twisted trail. Runs approx 30-40 minutes.

Avenue Poetry Slam [Sunday 2–4 pm]

Local poets perform original work and compete for $500+ in prizes. Poets 17 and under perform the first hour, the second hour features adults. Avenue Theatre (9030 – 118 Ave)
