This year’s festival theme is the Magical Kingdom of TomFoolery as 100 artists create spectacular winter art and activities for everyone!
Expect the return of favorites such as Olde Tyme Curling, TomFool’s Ice and Snow Kingdom, ice-skating, horse and wagon rides and the Outdoor Mummer’s Play and our newest edition, as we close the avenue, Street Hockey!
Celebrating the cultures, foods, music, sights, and smells of the past and blending them with the new cultures in our community is the essence of the Deep Freeze Winter Byzantine Festival! We can’t wait to celebrate winter with you.
Admission to the festival is free (donations accepted) and attendance of over 5000 is expected.
Deep Freeze Festival is organized by The Arts on the Ave Edmonton Society, Sculptors Association of Alberta, City of Edmonton, Avenue Initiative, and Alberta Avenue Community Centre.
