Fool Tom Fool

Tomfoolery is at the heart of the Mummers tradition, to make light of hard truths and find ridiculousness in the every day hum drum.

Mummers plays are silly rhythmic romps for the average folk to vent our spleen, laugh at ourselves, and share humour and good cheer with our neighbours and families. The Avenue Mummers, lead by director Randall Fraser, will be creating a brand new show based on this years theme of Tomfoolery. We also invite you to get together with 4-6 friends and create your own Mummers play. There will be instructional workshops and a chance to perform at the Deep Freeze Festival, and better still…prizes, really good ones!

Showtimes: Saturday 5:30 and 9:00pm // Sunday 4:00pm

Street Hockey on The Ave

This year we are closing down a section of 118 Avenue (between 92 and 93 Street) and setting up a Family Fun Rink and a Fun Tournament Rink for street hockey!

We are hoping you will join in on the fun and come out to play Canada’s Favorite Winter sport in the middle of 118 Avenue!  In 2009, Deep Freeze attracted over 1000 people – your involvement could increase community participation even more!

January 5th deadline to sign-up a team for the two day Fun Tournament.
