Jenna Butler
Jenna Butler was born in Norwich, England in 1980. She is an educator, book reviewer, editor and poet who makes her home in Edmonton, Alberta. Her work has garnered a number of awards and has been published both in Canada and internationally in literary magazines, anthologies, and journals. She is the founding editor of Rubicon Press and is currently working toward a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of East Anglia, UK. Her latest collection of poems, aphelion, is forthcoming from NeWest Press.
Marita Dachsel
Trista Eddy
Trisia Eddy has considered herself a writer ever since grade eight, when her first publication hit the stands at her junior high school. Nowadays, she can be found writing on various grocery store receipts, leftover toilet paper, and newspaper margins. She has received great accolades from her proud parents, and critical acclaim from her three children. Her poetry has appeared both online and in print, and she continues to put the finishing touches on a manuscript entitled, ‘A biography of three conditions’. She is in the process of breathing life into red nettle press, a small press dedicated to publishing innovative and intriguing work by Alberta writers.
Catherine Owen
Catherine Owen has been publishing and performing poetry since 1993. Her work has appeared in periodicals such as The Dalhousie Review and Poetry Salzburg. Titles include: Somatic – The Life and Work of Egon Schiele (Exile Editions 1998), nominated for the Gerald Lampert Award, The Wrecks of Eden (Wolsak and Wynn, 02), shortlisted for the BC Book Prize, and her recent collections, Shall: ghazals (Wolsak and Wynn, 06) and Cusp/detritus (Anvil Press, 06), both longlisted for the Relit Prize, while the latter made the shortlist for the George Ryga award for socially conscious literature. A selection from Seeing Lessons, on the pioneer photographer, Mattie Gunterman was recently nominated for the CBC Literary Awards. Her poems have been translated into Italian and Korean. Her latest book is a sonnet collaboration – DOG – with Joe Rosenblatt (Mansfield Press 2008). She has a Masters degree in English (Simon Fraser University, 01), collaborates with painters/dancers, practices photography, and plays bass/sings in the eco-metal band, INHUMAN.
