I really enjoyed the festival this weekend. SO MUCH great music at The Carrot on Saturday and Sunday.

My kids loved the carnival games (well, OK, so did I).

The film venue was really cool, too. A nice little sanctuary in the middle of a busy day, as we all gathered around the flickering light of the projector and the soothing sounds of the music.

    Can’t wait for next year.

  2. Paula Kirman Says:

This was my first time ever attending the festival, and I had a totally super time. The music was fantastic – Ireally like Mobius, and seeing Mo Lefever at The Carrot. The visual art displays were also very interesting and cool. I am already looking forward to next year!

I was glad to see the Arts alive and well in our community,
all together at the festival! I enjoyed getting to walk around the neighbourhood, visiting the performances at The Carrot, the film viewings,
the gallery viewings, and getting to chat eyeball-to-eyeball with our artists, alongside their work! Kudos to all involved for bringing everyone together like this, and I look forward, as a fellow artist (music, theatre, literary, visual), to participate and contribute – as well as taking it all in – in the years to come!
Long live the Arts in our growing and renewing community. Ever hopeful!

    Great job guys!.

Keep up the great work. things are really coming together.

Thanks for the great work you have done for the community.

I have lived in the neighborhood for 8 years and I can’t say enough about how fantastic it was to be able to walk my little niece down the street to participate in so much good stuff rather than having to explain the hard facts of life at every corner. We played carnival games, sat on straw bales eating cotton candy and listening to music, painted tiles and worked on the mosaic, visited the art gallery, and then got to sit in the Carrot and listen to the cool ‘boy band’. It was really special and was finally a manifestation of what I have always thought this neighborhood ‘could’ be – thanks to everyone for their contributions.

  6. Adam Snider Says:

This year was the first time I made it down to the festival. I enjoyed most of what I saw, and found the visual art and music to be the best parts. It would be nice to have a larger poetry element, but seeing as the festival came right on the heels of the Edmonton Poetry Festival, I can see that it may not have been easy to arrange that portion. I didn’t check out the film portion, so I can’t really comment.

    A bit of constructive criticism:

    * As someone who doesn’t live in the Alberta Avenue neighbourhood (although, that may change soon), I found that some of the venues weren’t very clearly marked. If I walked the Avenue every day, I’d probably know where everything was but, as an “outsider,” I walked past one of the venues a few times before realizing where it was.

    * It would have been nice if the outdoor artisan market was larger. I assume, as the festival continues to grow more popular, it will start to attract more sellers in future years, so this isn’t a big deal.

Other than that, I enjoyed the festival, and I hope to experience even more of it next year than I did this year.

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile Thus let me rephrase that: Thank you for lunch! “They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” by Carl W. Hi! There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
