The Carrot Coffeehouse will be transformed into Dylan Toymaker’s Lantern Workshop.

Two Separate Lantern-making workshops for:

Youth (ages 8-17) and Adults (18+) are welcome to plaster, paint, and papier-mâché to create objects of beauty and light.

TWO DAY WORKSHOP –

Youth (8 to 17 years) Workshop

Part One: August 23rd, 2009, from 1PM to 4PM
Part Two: August 24th, 2009 from 1PM to 4PM
Price: $8, for materials

The Kaleido Festival is on September 25-27 2009 and the festival needs your help. We require volunteers to take on a variety of roles from manning the information booth to stage managing one of the various venues at the festival. The variety of artists and performers lined up for this year is truly spectacular and make sure you dont miss out by volunteering for the Kaleido Festival.

Description of workshop: Back by popular demand, this workshop explores the exquisite art of pinhole photography. Armed with homemade cameras made from various containers, participants will take to the street to document our unique neighbourhood by exposing photographic paper through a pinhole lens. Participants will develop their prints in a darkroom set up at the hall.
