This is where you come in – if you are able to donate a bag of candy to the Carrot so they can be passed on, that would be very much appreciated. Mike has wowed us at the Open Mic many times (including this past Saturday night), but this will be his first full Friday night set.

Creative Nonfiction: You’ve read about it, you’ve heard about it, you’ve talked about it, and maybe you’ve even had a stab at writing it. Now here is your chance to see and hear it LIVE on stage when six of the city’s most intriguing and diverse writers of creative nonfiction step up to the mic in a Creative Nonfiction Cabaret at Edmonton’s hip new venue, The Carrot Community Arts Café, on Sunday May 4.
Published and emerging, fulltime and haven’t-given-up-the-day-job-yet, they are writers of biography, travel, adventure, family memoir, opinion and attitude: Nora Abercrombie, Jean Crozier, Fil Fraser, Rob Pruden, Karen Virag and Janice Williamson. Musical interludes by the Raving Poets Band.
Host is Myrna Kostash, long-time writer of nonfiction of all kinds and founder and president of the Creative Nonfiction Collective.
Doors are at 7:00 pm, the Cabaret starts at 7:30. Cover charge is $5.
