Certainly, one could say it was the warmth of good music that took it away. And the music WAS great. I was able to hear it all day Saturday as I hosted The Carrot stage. Lynette McKell and The Low Flying Planes were an incredible ensemble with guitars, 3 vocalists, bass, banjo, piano and accordian (not all at the same time, mind you). The energy continued throughout the day with the smooth Jazz of Karen Porkka and Mo LeFebvre, the infectious beats of Pre-Post and the folk stylings of Leckie Olsen and Cora McLachlan. Yes, such music would warm any cold soul, but it’s not the music I’m talking about.

One could also say it was the excellent coffee, cinnamon buns and treats served by our hardworking volunteer baristas that brought relief from the chill, but I’m talking about something more literal than all of that.

Body count!

Yes, that’s right. The sheer amount of people packed into the Carrot like art-loving sardines on Saturday and Sunday was enough to warm even the coldest winter day. And this particular weekend NOT being winter, it was VERY hot in there!

If you were able to stop in and helps us celebrate Kaleido this weekend, thank you for your support. And thank you for raising the temperature of the Carrot!
