Come to open mic this week (April 16th) at the Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse to sign-up for a draw for 2 complimentary tickets to see RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles next Saturday, April 23rd at the Jubilee! The draw will take place at 9PM - you must be present to win!
The Carrot’s is featuring some awesome classes. The fist one starts up soon so be sure to sign up!
The carrot will be closed March 25th, 2016 in recognition of Good Friday. We will be open for regular hours on Saturday March 26th.

Rhythms of the Earth: A Celebration of Black History Month
Celebrate Black history month with the Carrot this February! We will be featuring some amazing art, workshops, and music all throughout the month. There are free workshops featuring African Dancing and an African Mud cloth craft. Plus do not miss the drumming performance happening on Friday February 26th at 7:30 pm! Friday December 18th – Jingle Jammin’ Christmas Caroling!
Get into the spirit of Christmas and come join us for some chilli and caroling on the Ave! Friday December 18th at The Carrot (9351 118 Ave). A performance of A Child’s Christmas in Wales will take place when the chilli is served at 6:00pm. Caroling will begin at 7:00pm sharp! Dress for the weather and bring your own flashlight.
THE FALL FUNDRAISER WAS A SMASHING SUCCESS!
Arts on the Ave extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our Pub Night Fall Fundraiser on November 26th! We were overwhelmed by the show of support from our community – it truly was standing room only! Thank you to all of the volunteers who donated their time, to the incredibly gifted artists who donated pieces for the silent art auction, and to the new homes in which those pieces are now displayed. And a special kudos to Mary Ann Aquino and her team for their delicious culinary creations! Finally, a huge hug to the Nina Haggerty Centre of the Arts for being such welcoming hosts! We can’t wait to start planning our 2nd Annual Spring Gala!!
Thursday November 26th Salute our year with a final fundraiser
Join us on Thursday November 26th for Arts on the Ave’s Pub Night Fall Fundraiser, taking place at The Stollery Gallery @ The Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts (9225 118 Ave). Tickets are only $10 and include finger foods and great entertainment. There will be a cash bar, live music and an art auction!
We will also be accepting donations of new mittens and socks for the Bissel Centre.
Tickets are available for purchase in person at The Carrot, and online or by phone at Tix On The Square. Tickets are limited – get yours soon!
The Carrot Community Art Coffeehouse will host the Carrot’s Sidewalk Arts Sale on Saturday July 18th in conjunction with the 118th Avenue Pop-Up Market Street Sale “Rising Up” on Alberta Ave between 85th and 90th Streets.
This year there will be space for a limited number of artists to set up on the block in front of and beside the Carrot. The space is on a first-come first served basis. Artists are responsible for bringing their own table, tent and chair and to be set up for 9:00 am.
Venue: The Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse (9351-118 Ave)
Dates: Saturday July 18 (9:00AM-4:00PM)
Cost: $10 per table
To apply for a table at the Carrot’s Sidewalk Arts Sale please download the form below and return it to email@example.com or bring it into the Carrot (9351-118 Ave) with payment in cash, credit, debit or cheque by Thursday July 16th, 2015. If absolutely unable to drop in prior to deadline, communicate your intention to attend and we can advise on availability to pay and set up Saturday.

We are a Community Arts Coffeehouse sprouting up from the fertile ground of the Alberta Avenue arts revolution. You can find us at 9351-118 ave in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We’re open most of the time, but you can get detailed hours here. Every Friday and Saturday night we feature live art – be it music, poetry, drama, comedy – whatever. We even offer an open stage Saturday nights. You can view the full lineup here. During the week, you may also find artists busy at their craft while you sip your excellent espresso.What we are really all about is Community and Art. Come in and see for yourself. Our lovely little coffee house is completely volunteer driven so we are always looking for baristas, hosts for our open mic stage on Saturday nights, cashiers, and those interested in helping with special events.
