Jolee Ukrainec

Artist Statement

piece by Jolee Ukrainec

“I paint what I feel, experience, and what comes to mind image with the intention ofin order to grow, expand and complete a feeling, expression, or image that may once have been elusive but now complete. Contemplating a thought, image, expression, person or experience brings growth and learning and to be able to help another achieve understanding and identification as I have helped myself through painting and expressing is my hope and intention.”

Jolee Ukrainec was born and spent her early years in Edmonton. She started her first art class at 5 years of age. Between the ages of 8 to 17, Jolee lived on an acreage north west of Edmonton which became the ground of resourcefulness, creativity and immense fuel for expressions of all kinds. Art classes and creative resourcefulness throughout primary years as well as continued self taught techniques, study and the need for balance and an outlet continued the rapid progress through different mediums, techniques and styles. Consistent opportunities for challenging requests as well provided the knowledge and reminder for Jolee that creative expression has no boundary; is infinity.
