Featured Artists for March

Carmella Haykowsky

“I usually get obsessed with a particular subject and have to know everything about it so as to really be able to “see” it. Then when I draw and paint I attempt to convey my understanding of  the subject and what makes it unique.  Lately I have been painting flowers and garden scenes because I am fascinated with the balance between their delicate nature and their strength. I like to use colour, form, line and texture in my art. When I paint I am always learning about the subject, the materials, and the various   techniques and my response to them. My biggest thrill is getting lost in this process of discovery and play.”
