Respectful and Inclusionary Dialogue Policy

Social Media/Blog Comment Guidelines

We live and work in a community that has been impacted by poverty, racism and mental health experiences and the issues around it can be sensitive and emotionally-charged topics. Our organization interacts with people from various backgrounds on a daily basis. Because of this, we hope to engage in meaningful, respectful conversation about issues experienced in our community and beyond.

We welcome thoughts and opinions to be expressed by friends and followers on our social media and blog profiles; however, we wish for this to be done in a courteous fashion.

Arts on the Ave does not support or encourage every comment posted on our profiles. It is our intent to accept the majority of comments in order to inspire open discussions that raise awareness and provide educational value. In order to achieve this type of discussion, we hope that individuals will feel welcome to share ideas, experiences, stories and resources.

We encourage open and transparent conversations amongst members of the community about their experiences within the community, in a civil and thoughtful way.  Therefore, we will not allow language or inferences that belittle other people or imply the worthiness of a person or group or their worthiness to receive help.
